Established on 10/08/1979 with the first name as Internal Import-Export Company, Intimex was the first company of Ministry of Interal Trade responsibility on doing Import and Export.
In the years of 1979-1989, Intimex was the supplier of consumer goods imported from Social Republic Countries for peoples all over , and Intimex created opportunities for thousands of workers who produced goods for export. Intimex has become famous enterprise with misssion of suppliyng imported consumer goods and exporting handicraft products.
1986, Government allowed open market, Intimex has changed business to entrust for each facilities of Company.
After 1998 period: Intimex stepped into new stage with the target for promoting export agri-products special in coffee, pepper ... Intimex created a huge change of exports volumn. After 10 years Intimex has become the leading company in exporting coffee and pepper with 150,000-200,000 tons of coffee, and 10,000-15,000 tons of pepper, made up 20% of exported coffee and 15% exported of pepper all over . Intimex become a famous export company as well as domestic and foreign markets.
From 2000 once again, Intimex stepped into a new stage. Intimex invested for factories that processed agri-products such as cleaned-pepper factory in Binh Duong in 2002 with invested capital of 20 billion, up to now this factory has recovered the invested capital and took the interest from 2006 . The tapioca starch factory was built in 2003 at Thanh Chuong, Nghe An Province, with capacity of 50 tons/day, and it has raised to 180 tons/day now, annual export quantity is 20,000 tons. From 2007 Intimex Tapioca Starch Factory recovered interest capital and become the largest factory of the . Intimex are investing two hight quality coffee processing factories in Binh Duong and Buon Ma with capacity of each factory is 20.000tons/year.

Hanoi in particular and of the North of Vietnam in general. Intimex has been successful as the first State-Owned Compnay in the field of trading. Up to now, Intimex has had 14 supermarkets and trade center, that located in Ha Noi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Hai Phong, Nghe An,
Da Nang , Buon Me Thuot. 2008, Intimex Supermarket was choiced as famoust supermarket brand. In future, Intimex will develop his standard supermarket chain and modern trade center.
In developing the new business is Intimex well as Pioneer's trade in shares and become Holdings Group. 2006, 3 branches of Intimex was successfully in sharing company. Intimex become one of the biggist companies of with the revenues ranked 5th in 500 higtest revenues companies.
Thirty years, since establishment up to now, going through the difficulties or the honor, Intimex is still going up. Now with over 2000 staffs, covering all areas on the key economic region of country, and turnover on the export was 400 million USD in 2008, revenue was over 9000 billion VND, pay for National budget more than 300 billion VND, Intimex ranked 49/500 enterprises Vietnam.
